You do not need a full set of documents or technical vocabulary for your first conversation. Just tell us what your business does and the help you are looking for.
Tell us what you do
Describe your business activities and legal structure, and whether the business is already trading or is being set up. If you know your current tax arrangements and VAT status, share those details too.
Estimate the number of documents
An approximate number of sales invoices and purchase documents helps us assess the workload. It does not need to be exact. Mention if your business is seasonal or if you plan to expand.
Tell us whether you employ anyone
The number of people and the types of contracts help us agree the HR and payroll support you need. If hiring is still at the planning stage, it is worth discussing that too.
Ask how you will work together
Find out what the fee includes, how to send documents and how to get in touch about day-to-day matters. Also agree which additional services are available and the arrangements for taking over from another accountant.
